Escape to freedom
Harriet escaped from slavery by travelling at night, following the North Star to reach the free states where she could be safe.
The Underground Railroad
This wasn't a real train β it was a secret chain of kind people and safe houses. Harriet guided many people along it to freedom, and was never once caught.
A lifelong helper
Later she helped during the war and stood up for women's right to vote. She is remembered as one of America's bravest heroes.
