Finding his colors
Van Gogh came to painting a bit later than most artists, but once he started, he couldn't stop. He fell in love with bright yellows, deep blues, and bold brushstrokes you can almost feel.
A starry night
One of his most famous paintings, The Starry Night, shows a town under a swirling, glowing sky. He painted it from his window, turning an ordinary night into pure magic.
Painting through hard times
Van Gogh often felt sad and lonely, and sold almost no paintings in his life. But art gave him joy, and he made around 2,100 artworks in just ten years โ a burst of color from a gentle, struggling heart.
"I dream of painting and then I paint my dream." โ Vincent van Gogh
Why we remember him
Van Gogh shows that your art matters, even if not everyone understands it right away. Like Leonardo da Vinci, he saw beauty everywhere and shared it with brush and paint.
